Quarterly Specialist Sales remain a key part of our Auction Calendar, attracting international interest. The hugely popular regular Antiques & Interiors Sales provide a source for collectors, interior designers, and the general public.
Clevedon Salerooms are currently looking for a Saleroom Assistant (Photography) to join our busy Auction House team. The successful applicant will play a key role in the presentation, marketing, handling, safe storage, and selling of auction lots, from the time they enter the building until they leave.
Main Duties:
- Digitally photographing (and processing) images of a wide range of antiques and collectables for auction
- Assisting with the lead up to auctions, with additional photographic and condition enquiries
- Receiving and releasing collections and deliveries via the computer stock system
- Assisting with setting up the auction rooms and public areas for view days
- Assisting the cataloguers and valuers as required for all departments.
- Marketing auctions via social media channels, website, news articles, and advertising
- Auction day roles include viewing, online and telephone bidding
The post requires an honest and well-presented individual who can work well under pressure to meet catalogue deadlines and be part of a team. Useful skills will additionally include an interest in antiques, use of photographic editing software, good presentational skills and an eye for detail.
There may be opportunities for training and progression within the firm, including research, cataloguing, and ultimately valuing, subject to performance.
£25,000 to £26,000 per annum (depending on experience).
