Clermont Hotel Group offers a rich and diverse portfolio for a range of guest needs, and helps employees forge lasting and successful careers in hospitality.

An experienced hospitality company, we offer a warm, guest-centred experience - but we are, at our heart, a people company and strive to connect personally with our guests, partners, investors, and colleagues to create an extraordinary experience for all.

With over 4000 rooms, 100+ event spaces, plus stylish bars and restaurants, our hotels have plenty of space for everyone to meet, sleep, and dine.

All kinds of extraordinary, for all kinds of people.

We're looking for a driven, hands-on and technically strong Financial Accountant to join our Group Reporting team.

Reporting to the Group Reporting Manager, you'll play an important role in delivering accurate, high-quality financial reporting across the Group, supporting our monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional who enjoys taking ownership, working with complex financial information and ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and control.

You'll have responsibility for managing the statutory accounts process across multiple Group entities, whilst supporting consolidated reporting and contributing to the continuous improvement of our financial processes and controls.

Working as part of a collaborative five-person team, you'll build relationships with senior stakeholders across the business and play an important part in ensuring our central Finance function provides the insight, support and financial expertise the business needs.

What you'll be doing

You'll take ownership of key financial reporting activities, ensuring our statutory and consolidated reporting is accurate, timely and compliant with relevant accounting standards.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Leading the end-to-end statutory accounts process for more than 20 Group entities, from preparation and planning through to internal and external reviews and coordinating director sign-off.
  • Supporting the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial results, including reporting to our parent company and bank.
  • Preparing and supporting consolidated balance sheet and cash flow reporting, ensuring information is accurate and delivered to agreed deadlines.
  • Managing the annual intercompany cleardown process, coordinating the settlement of Group intercompany balances through dividend and capital injection transactions.
  • Taking ownership of the Group's IFRS 16 model, monitoring its accuracy and processing remeasurements as required.
  • Supporting the preparation of monthly management reporting packs for our parent company and bank.
  • Supporting the month-end close process, including the preparation and processing of manual journals.
  • Preparing detailed balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all balances are supported by appropriate documentation.
  • Ensuring compliance with Group accounting policies and relevant financial reporting standards.
  • Supporting the implementation and ongoing maintenance of robust financial controls and reporting processes.
  • Providing technical accounting support and contributing to ad hoc projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Working closely with the Group Reporting Manager and wider Finance team to identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls and drive best practice.
  • What you’ll bring

You'll be a proactive, organised and detail-focused finance professional who takes pride in producing accurate work and finding better ways of doing things.

You'll be comfortable working to tight deadlines, managing competing priorities and communicating confidently with colleagues and senior stakeholders.

We'd love you to bring

  • ACA qualified (or equivalent), with experience gained within an audit practice.
  • Strong experience preparing statutory financial statements under IFRS.
  • Experience of statutory and consolidated group reporting, ideally across multiple legal entities.
  • A good understanding of technical accounting and financial reporting requirements.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong overall IT capabilities.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and deliver high-quality work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to build effective relationships across different levels of the business.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach, with the ability to work independently, take ownership and use your initiative.
  • A passion for continuous improvement, with the confidence to challenge existing processes and identify opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency and control.
  • Experience within the hospitality or leisure sector would be an advantage, but it's not essential.

We're more interested in your technical expertise, attitude and ability to make a positive contribution to our team.
