The Cumberland is an immersive dining experience inspired by the hit television series created by Michelin starred chef Gordon Ramsay. It captures the energy and excitement of the iconic show and delivers it directly to the table. The restaurant blends theatrical flair with culinary excellence and exceptional service, pairing outstanding food and drink with world-class service.
As Sommelier, you will be the authority on wine within the restaurant - curating pairings, guiding guests through the list, and enhancing every meal with confidence and flair. You’ll work closely with the Restaurant General Manager, Head Chef and wider front-of-house team to deliver a seamless, refined and engaging experience.
This is a role for someone who combines deep product knowledge with warmth, personality and a genuine love of hospitality, who can elevate the guest experience through exceptional wine service, expert guidance and memorable storytelling.
- Delivering expert wine service and tailored recommendations to guests
- Curating thoughtful wine pairings to complement the Hell’s Kitchen menu
- Building strong relationships with guests, recognising regulars and VIPs
- Supporting the development and training of the front-of-house team in wine knowledge
- Managing wine stock, storage and presentation to the highest standards
- Working with suppliers to maintain a relevant, exciting and commercially sound wine list
- Ensuring compliance with licensing, service and safety standards
What you’ll bring:
- Previous experience as a Sommelier or senior wine-focused role in a premium or fine-dining environment
- Strong wine knowledge with relevant qualifications (WSET or equivalent desirable)
- Confident, engaging and guest-focused communication style
