Clerkenwell Health is an innovative and leading Research Organisation specialising in the delivery of scientifically grounded clinical trials, utilising its collaborative Contract Research Organisation (CRO), extensive Site Network, and leading Therapy Development Programme.
We focus on supporting research in Mental Health and Central Nervous System (CNS) disorders, with a strong emphasis on psychedelic drug development.
The Role
We’re looking for a Research Operations Assistant to join our growing clinical research team. You’ll play a key role in supporting the safe and effective delivery of Phase 1, 2, and 3 clinical trials, focusing on laboratory operations, site coordination, and regulatory compliance.
This is a hands-on and varied role involving lab oversight, trial logistics, data management, and team coordination – perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to excellence in clinical research.
What will the role entail?
- Leading day-to-day operations within Clerkenwell Health’s laboratory and clinical sites
- Supporting the setup, implementation, and closeout of clinical trials across multiple specialties
- Overseeing laboratory practices including sample processing, shipping, IMP handling, equipment use, and SOP compliance
- Assisting in clinical trial feasibility assessments, risk analysis, and documentation creation
- Supporting Investigational Medicinal Product (IMP) management under pharmacist supervision
- Monitoring team workloads, training needs, and operational performance
- Participating in audits, inspections, and monitoring visits, and supporting inspection readiness activities
- Overseeing data entry, documentation, and amendment submissions, ensuring ICH-GCP compliance
- Acting as liaison with sponsors, CROs, and internal stakeholders to coordinate logistics and resolve queries
- Providing training and mentorship to junior staff, and contributing to recruitment and onboarding
- Supporting financial and administrative aspects, including invoicing and study cost tracking
What will you need to succeed?
Required:
- Degree in a science or health-related discipline
- Relevant research experience and familiarity with clinical trials
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage time and multiple priorities in a busy research setting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and data management systems
- Commitment to professional integrity, accuracy, and data confidentiality
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Experience in pharmacy or lab support for clinical trials
- Involvement in education and staff development
- Understanding of GCP, GMP, GDPR, and other relevant regulatory standards
