Clerkenwell Health is an innovative and leading Research Organisation specialising in the delivery of scientifically grounded Clinical Trials through its collaborative Contract Research Organisation (CRO), extensive Clinical Research Facility (CRF) network, and Therapy Development Programme.

We focus on supporting research in Mental Health and Central Nervous System (CNS) disorders, with a strong emphasis on psychedelic drug development.

The Role

We’re looking for a Clinical Trial Health Care Assistant to join our clinical research team. You’ll play an important role in delivering high-quality care to trial participants across Phase 1, 2 and 3 studies, supporting clinical operations from trial start-up to close-out.

This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced clinical and research staff in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.

What will the role entail?

  • Performing clinical trial procedures such as phlebotomy, ECGs, vital signs, and cannulation
  • Supporting the preparation, planning, and delivery of daily study activities
  • Managing clinical documentation, including CRFs, regulatory files, and logs
  • Coordinating volunteer visit schedules and assisting with participant care
  • Processing and packaging biological specimens according to study protocols
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with ICH-GCP and regulatory standards
  • Supporting clinical trial set-up, site initiation, and study close-out activities
  • Upholding patient wellbeing and safety throughout study participation
  • Participating in stock control, equipment calibration, and administrative duties
  • Undertaking required training provided by Clerkenwell and trial sponsors

What will you need to succeed?

  • Previous experience in a healthcare or research setting.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSEs in English and Maths).
  • Diploma or qualifications within Health & Social Care
  • Computer literacy.
  • Experience working in a laboratory, spinning and processing blood samples is desirable
  • Phlebotomy experience would be advantageous
