Salary: £34,000 per annum, DOE + Excellent Benefits!

Contract: Full time, Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday) – Night Shift: 9.30pm – 5.30am

Responsibilities:

  • Motivate and give direction to Team Leaders in producing, packing and maintaining quality‑based product.
  • Supervise all aspects of the Team Leaders and provide additional resources where needed.
  • Effectively manage the Production and Dispatch operations from start to end of the product lifecycle.
  • Undertake operational duties when required to meet deadlines and/or cover for staff absence.
  • Negotiate and plan with Team Leaders to ensure sufficient staff cover in all areas at all times.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with your team, your manager and with people outside your team.
  • Effectively manage the site Hygiene functions.
  • Take responsibility for the finished products by monitoring and maintaining quality.
  • Put policies and procedures in place and monitor their activity for the BRC Audit.
  • Work with the Production Manager and Technical Manager on production and technical aspects of the company.
  • Deal with any employee conduct issues at the initial stage.
  • Review training needs and the effectiveness of training skills.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in all areas and be competent in carrying out stock take unassisted in all areas.
  • Ensure hygiene and cleaning requirements are carried out at all times, working in line with the Cleaning Schedule.
  • Ensure Health & Safety policy and procedures are adhered to by carrying out regular checks.
  • Coordinate with all Team Leaders to ensure sufficient work is allocated with correct usage of equipment.
  • Ensure product quality in all areas: Filling, Baking, Packing, etc.
  • Maintain stock of materials and their appropriate storage as required.
  • Liaise with other departments to make sure any issues are dealt with appropriately.
  • Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed and recorded correctly.
  • Good standard of computer literacy (Word, Excel, Access and Sage 50).
  • Identify hazards and evaluate risks in the workplace, and areas that need improvement.
  • Perform other duties requested by the Company that it considers appropriate to your abilities.

Qualifications:

  • Food Science related degree or 3 years supervisor experience.
  • HACCP Level 3 qualification.
  • Mechanically minded with experience working with machinery.
  • Previous experience working in a Team Management position.
  • Ability to work in a busy environment and able to work under own initiative.
  • Experience of working in a food manufacturing environment.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience of management of a bakery/pastry facility.
  • Experience and knowledge of BRC internal audit, GMP's and KPI's would be beneficial.
  • Experience and knowledge of Quality and continual improvement of the procedures carried out and products.
  • Strong leadership and managing staff experience.
  • Health and safety at work.
