As our Production Supervisor you will be responsible for:
- Team Management: To motivate and give direction to Team Leaders in producing, packing and maintaining quality-based product. Supervising all aspects of the Team Leaders and providing additional resources where needed. To effectively manage the Production and Dispatch operations from the start to the end of the product lifecycle. Undertake operational duties when required to meet deadlines and/or cover for staff absence. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with your team, your manager and with people outside your team.
- Compliance & Quality: To effectively manage the site Hygiene functions. Taking responsibility for the finished products by monitoring and maintaining quality. Putting policies and procedures in place and monitoring their activity for the BRC Audit. Working with the Production Manager and Technical Manager on production and technical aspects of the company. Reviewing training needs and the effectiveness of training skills.
- Operational Efficiency: Liaise with all Team Leaders to ensure sufficient work is allocated with the correct usage of equipment. Ensure that staff have, and are able to use, correct safety equipment to carry out their duties. Maintain stock of materials and their appropriate storage as required. Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed and recorded correctly.
- Performance Management & Quality Control: Checking accuracy of the product specification. Checking suitability and quality of the materials and all print operations during the production process through to the final quality check and despatch. Work closely with the Senior Management Team to produce and review individual/team performances on a regular basis.
- Objectives: To continue to strive to minimize waste in all areas by achieving maximum utilisation of our existing resources. Also, by adopting a responsible attitude to energy conservation by recycling and recognising the aims of caring for the environment.
Ideally the successful candidate will have previous experience as Production Supervisor in Food or manufacturing environment. In order to be successful in this role it's essential that you have:
- Food Science related degree or 3 years supervisor experience
- HACCP Level 3 qualification
- Mechanically minded with experience working with machinery
- Previous experience working in a Team Management position
- Ability to work in a busy environment and able to work under own initiative
- Experience of working in a food manufacturing environment
It would be great if you had:
- Experience of management of a bakery/pastry facility
- Experience and knowledge of BRC internal audit, GMP's and KPI's
- Experience and knowledge of Quality and continual improvement of the procedures carried out and products
Must have strong leadership and managing staff experience. Health and safety at work.
