Cleo is a profitable, fast‐growing fintech unicorn that wants to fundamentally change humanity's relationship with money. We are looking for a senior product engineer who builds data‐driven, feature‐rich products for our users and who will grow with us as we scale.

Responsibilities

  • Join a cross‐functional product squad and collaborate with engineers, designers, analysts and other disciplines to develop features that enhance users' financial health.
  • Collaborate with senior peers to provide technical insight into upcoming work, and lead the delivery by pulling the team together to get it shipped.
  • Mentor colleagues to grow as engineers and actively support their development.
  • Work on our Ruby on Rails monolith – build data models, APIs and business‐logic services.
  • Deliver work using agile methodologies and tools such as testing, observability, A/B testing and feature flags.
  • Analyze data to identify problems and generate new ideas, using database queries, logs and user research.
  • Provide in‐hours support and, optionally, join the compensated out‐of‐hours on‐call rotation.
  • Contribute to cross‐cutting concerns that improve our engineering efforts.
  • Participate in product ideation, user research, design reviews, retrospectives, and other non‐technical aspects of the squad.

Qualifications

  • Passion for improving financial health and alignment with Cleo's values and engineering principles.
  • At least 4 years of industry experience with Ruby on Rails.
  • Experience in building scalable, test‐driven applications in a monolithic architecture.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Tech Stack

  • Ruby on Rails monolith with a React Native app front‐end (TypeScript).
  • Python for machine‐learning services.
  • PostgreSQL database, hosted on AWS.
  • Automated CI/CD with Heroku and CircleCI.
  • Peer‐reviewed code, Minitest and automated testing.
