About The Role

Cleo’s headcount is increasing, our products are expanding, and we’re working across more locations!

As a result, our transaction volumes are growing – more suppliers, more employee expenses, and more settlements within the product itself.

We’re looking for an Accounts Assistant to join the team, supporting our UK and US entities.

This is an ideal role for a candidate early in their finance career, offering an excellent opportunity to handle critical accounting tasks while learning the month‑end close process from senior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supplier invoice processing – coding, matching and posting across the UK & US entities
  • Preparation and setup of bi‑weekly payment runs
  • Employee expense card (UK and US) transaction posting and monthly reconciliations
  • Daily bank statement postings across all active entity accounts
  • Employee expense claim processing and posting
  • Month‑end support, particularly in areas such as prepayments and accruals
  • Support on settlement reconciliations as our user base grows
  • Maintenance of the AP ledger and creditor records
  • Daily bank transfers and daily wallet transfers across the UK and US entities
  • Participation in projects to automate and improve processes and wider Core Finance projects
  • What We’re Looking For
  • 2+ years experience in an Accounts Payable or Accounts Assistant role
  • Confidence posting daily bank transactions and performing bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
  • Experience preparing payment runs and processing domestic and international bank transfers
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage high‑volume transactional work accurately
  • Knowledge of month‑end accounting processes, including prepayments, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Collaborative mindset, comfortable working within a small, busy team
  • Proactive and willing to learn

  • Experience working in a multi‑entity or multi‑currency environment
  • Exposure to a tech/fintech/high‑growth company environment
  • Experience working with Xero or Netsuite
  • AAT (or equivalent) – studying or qualified
