You will be the Lead Product Analyst in our payments collections team, leveraging data to chart the path to net profitability at one of the UK’s fastest growing startups. You will play an instrumental role in defining and prioritising the team’s long term and short term roadmaps to build a best-in-class payments processing engine. Initially, you will help define and own the key metrics which measure the efficiency of our payments engine. Using these metrics, you will identify opportunities to optimise when and how we take payments while balancing revenue and the cost of payments. This is a unique opportunity to maximise profitability. Your work will soon grow beyond this brief into broader matters of company performance. You’ll also sit within the wider data function here at Cleo; a hotshot chapter of 60 Machine Learning Engineers, Product Analysts, and Analytic Engineers with significant industry experience who are at the heart of everything we do at Cleo.
Responsibilities
- Conduct deep-dive analysis of the payments ecosystem to identify the highest impact areas for growth.
- Dig deep into our user behaviour and payments data to conduct root cause analysis on unexpected metric movements.
- Define key payments-related metrics and track KPIs to assess the efficiency of our payments platform.
- Work alongside our engineering, product, and data science partners to build a best-in-class payments intelligence.
- Conduct regular A/B tests and causal analyses to determine the impact of product changes on success metrics.
- Work with Analytics Engineering to prioritise data modelling needs in your area as well as directly contributing to our transformed data codebase.
About you
- You are a system thinker: You like approaching problems, opportunities, and challenges by understanding the interconnected components of a payments ecosystem.
- You have multiple years of experience doing quantitative analysis within a digital product environment.
- You have solid SQL experience and know how to dig deep through various data sources to find insights.
- You have a demonstrated history of helping drive team strategy through building roadmaps and prioritising initiatives.
- You have a proven track record of proactively optimising processes through data-led insights.
- You are comfortable with defining metrics from scratch and creating dashboards.
- You are familiar with conducting large-scale A/B experiments.
- Bonus: Familiarity with payment systems, particularly US payment rails (e.g. ACH), and experience working with third-party data (payments processors, risk engines, or data aggregators).
