Cleo AI is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Reporting and Tax Manager to join our growing finance team. This is an opportunity to manage, shape and improve the accuracy, compliance and effectiveness of Cleo’s financial reporting and tax processes. You would work collaboratively with a wide range of internal teams, as well as external stakeholders including advisors, auditors and investors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation of internal and external investor financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages for management and investors.
  • Prepare Cleo’s audited group financial statements under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Lead on our US entity financial statements preparation and audit under US GAAP.
  • Collaborate and own the annual audit process, as well as developing and implementing internal controls.
  • Partner with other teams (e.g., Strategic Finance, Operations) to support strategic decision-making and provide insight into Cleo’s financial performance.
  • Manage Cleo’s tax compliance processes across the UK, US, and other jurisdictions, ensuring timely filing of all tax returns and payments.
  • Liaise with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with UK corporate tax, US Federal and State tax.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation across all relevant jurisdictions, assessing their impact on Cleo’s operations and advising the business accordingly.
  • Support transfer pricing compliance and documentation across the group.
  • Develop and maintain robust processes for financial reporting and tax compliance to support Cleo’s scaling operations.
  • Train and mentor junior finance team members in areas of reporting and tax compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in reporting, systems, and processes.
  • Work closely with the Strategic Finance team to align financial reporting with forecasts.
  • Collaborate with Legal, People, and Operations teams to address tax and accounting implications of business decisions and global expansion plans.
  • Act as a key point of contact for investors and external stakeholders regarding financial and tax reporting matters.
What We’re Looking For
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA) with strong post-qualification experience (+3 years).
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS and experience preparing financial statements in compliance with these standards.
  • US GAAP knowledge is a plus, but not essential.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing UK, US, and global tax compliance.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Proactive and resourceful, with a drive to improve processes and systems.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced technology, SaaS, or start-up environment is highly desirable.
