At Cleo, we are embarking on a mission to fundamentally change humanity's relationship with money. Imagine a world where everyone, regardless of background or income, has access to a hyper-intelligent financial advisor in their pocket. Cleo is a profitable, fast-growing unicorn with over $200 million in ARR and growing over 2x year-over-year. This is a chance to join a team of brilliant, driven individuals who are passionate about making a real difference.
The role involves day-to-day financial operations supporting Cleo’s payments and credit products. You will work closely with Product, Engineering, and Banking Operations to help ensure new and existing products are operationally sound, well-documented, and supported through launch and scale. This is a Finance Operations Analyst position focused on flow-of-funds validation, settlements monitoring, reconciliation processes, partner reporting, and operational readiness.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Working with Product, Engineering, and Finance Ops to support launches and changes across products such as BNPL, card-based products, Bills, Autopilot, and payments infrastructure.
- Supporting day-to-day monitoring of settlements, repayments, and money movement flows to help ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Contributing to reconciliation processes across banks, processors, and internal systems, including investigating variances and breaks.
- Helping document and maintain clear, up-to-date flow-of-funds for new and existing products.
- Supporting operational readiness for product greenlights and MVP launches by highlighting settlement, reconciliation, and reporting considerations.
- Assisting with preparation of partner-facing reporting and supporting walkthroughs that explain how payment flows and settlements work.
- Helping respond to partner questions with clear operational explanations and follow-ups.
- Supporting investigation of operational issues related to settlements, repayments, or money movement.
- Contributing to the definition and improvement of repeatable Finance Ops processes as products and volumes scale.
You will develop a strong understanding of how money moves through Cleo’s systems and help ensure our financial operations remain reliable as our products grow and evolve.
What We're Looking For:
- A strong finance foundation — experience in Finance Operations, FP&A, Accounting, or a closely related finance role.
- Highly analytical thinking: you enjoy digging into numbers, spotting patterns, and working through ambiguity to get to the truth.
- Extremely strong attention to detail and a high bar for accuracy.
- Comfortable working with large datasets from multiple sources and reconciling across them.
- Ability to turn data into a clear narrative and communicate findings in a simple, structured way.
- Confident working cross-functionally and following issues through to resolution.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience working with payments providers or payment data, including settlements, refunds, chargebacks, or payout reporting.
- Familiarity with card or bank-backed products and the operational realities of money movement.
- Comfort running basic SQL queries or using data tools to validate or explore data.
- Experience supporting product launches, MVP rollouts, or operational readiness workstreams.
What do you get for all your hard work?
- A competitive compensation package (base + equity) with reviews every 6 months.
- Work at one of the fastest-growing tech startups, backed by top VC firms.
- A clear progression plan to keep growing.
- Flexibility in your work schedule.
- Join our hybrid-first team, expected to be in our London office 1-3 times a week.
Other Benefits:
- 25 days annual leave a year + public holidays (+ an additional day for every year you spend at Cleo).
- 6% employer-matched pension in the UK.
- Company-wide performance reviews every 6 months.
- Generous pay increases for high-performers.
- Private Medical Insurance, dental cover, and life assurance.
- Enhanced parental leave.
- 1 month paid sabbatical after 4 years at Cleo.
- Regular socials and activities, online and in-person.
