Driver Receptionist – Out of Hours
Must hold a full, clean, manual UK driving licence.
As a Driver Receptionist, you’ll play an important role in helping our Out of Hours services run safely, smoothly and efficiently. Supporting Duty Doctors across home visits and Primary Care Centres, you’ll help ensure patients receive urgent care when they need it most. This is a varied role combining driving, reception and operational support responsibilities. You’ll transport clinicians safely to domiciliary visits, support patients accessing our services, maintain accurate records and work closely with Call Centre teams to help coordinate workloads and patient flow. No two shifts are the same. One moment you may be welcoming a patient into a Primary Care Centre, the next supporting a clinician during a home visit out in the community. Throughout it all, you’ll bring professionalism, compassion and calmness to situations where reassurance matters.
What you’ll be doing
- Safely driving IC24 vehicles to transport Duty Doctors to home visits
- Supporting clinicians during domiciliary visits where required
- Welcoming patients and assisting with appointments and enquiries
- Maintaining accurate patient records and updating operational systems
- Communicating with Call Centres and operational teams to support efficient service delivery
- Carrying out vehicle and equipment checks to maintain safety and readiness
- Supporting the smooth running of Primary Care Centres and Out of Hours services
About you
- Calm under pressure, reliable and confident communicating with patients, clinicians and colleagues.
- Excellent driving skills and holds a full manual UK driving licence, and is comfortable driving both manual and automatic vehicles.
- Communicates confidently and compassionately with a wide range of people.
- Comfortable using IT systems and recording information accurately.
- Can work independently while supporting a wider operational team.
- Flexible, proactive and able to adapt to changing service demands.

Hours Available
9.6 hours per week. Shifts may include evenings, weekends and bank holidays in line with service requirements.
