Overview

The Department of Performing Arts at Clemson University seeks highly qualified candidates to fill course instruction needs in one of three disciplines: theatre, music, or audio technology. Candidates should be prepared to teach courses in their emphasis area. This part‑time and/or temporary full‑time opportunity to teach one or more courses is available as needed, with courses offered in spring, summer, and/or fall terms and in one or more modalities and locations. The start date varies according to departmental teaching needs. Areas of content expertise for teaching at the undergraduate level include:

Qualifications

Minimum of a Master’s Degree in a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Teaching experience at the secondary or college level
  • Evidence of research and/or creative work and familiarity with contemporary professional practices in the performing arts, and expertise in content aligned with a departmental program area; recent professional acting, directing, audio technology, musical instruction, or performance experience
  • Desire to stay current and relevant in area of practice
  • Commitment to and interest in diverse student recruitment
