Materials Manager

Materials Manager South Midlands A leading company in the Rail sector is currently recruiting for a Materials Manager due to continued growth. The Materials Manager will report directly to the Managing director. As Materials Manager you will take on a new challenge to apply your expertise in heavy maintenance and oversee all aspects of site material management, ensuring timely and cost effective support of operations and projects. You will be involved in as a Materials Manager; * Managing supplier relationships and performance * Handling warranty claims * Ensuring materials meet the company quality standards * Ensure stock levels are maintained through just-in-time delivery strategies * Continual review of re-order points to prevent shortages and support efficient inventory turnover * You will focus on compliance, safety and best practice and manage waste disposal and ensuring tools and equipment are repaired, replace or recalibrated appropriately. * Implementation of a warehouse and stock management system that meets the standards required To be considered for the role of Materials Manager you will have; * Ideally a qualification (or working towards) Materials management, logistics or supply chain management * A strong understanding of material supply principles and warehouse/stock management strategies * Proficient in MS Office and stock management systems * Experience in leading change and implementing improvements * Experience of leading a small team * It would be great if you have a background in heavy maintenance and/or rail but other engineering experience will be considered. They offer salary circa £40,000 – 45,000 plus 25 days holiday, pension
