Kennel Technician

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our nursing team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and attention to detail to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards within the practice. This role is essential in ensuring the well-being of the animals in our care while providing excellent patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care for all animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising inpatients.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within, including cleaning kennels, cattery and theatres, cleaning instruments, washing bedding.
• Monitor the health and behaviour of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
• Ensure consulting areas clean and stocked.

Qualifications

• Experience in animal handling or care, is preferred but full training will be provided.
• Previous experience as an Animal Care Assistant, Veterinary Care Assistant, or in a kennel setting is highly desirable.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling large breeds or moving equipment.
• A compassionate attitude towards animals along with patience and understanding in handling various breeds and temperaments.
• Empathy and courtesy for their owners.
