The role involves reporting to the Workshop Manager with a vacancy for a Labourer/Driver at our Corby and Dartford Depots. The working hours are Monday to Friday (Basic 40 hours per week plus overtime opportunities).
The main purpose of the role is to:
- Clean off plant and equipment ready for hire.
- Collect spare parts.
- Carry out repair and maintenance work.
- Ensure the workshop, offices, and yard are kept clean and tidy to a good standard at all times.
- Deliver and collect small plant equipment ranging from Rollers to Welfare Units, and be required to tow up to 3.5t.
Key Duties include:
- Ensuring loads are safely secured, within maximum permissible weight for the vehicle and without exceeding maximum permissible axle weights.
- Cleaning and preparing plant and equipment ready for hire.
- Keeping all public areas, workshops, stores, offices, welfare facilities, and yard area clean and tidy and free from hazards including spillage and trip hazards.
- Ad hoc upkeep and maintenance duties including property maintenance and repairs, moving machines, and manual handling.
Candidate Profile: It is essential that the successful candidate will have experience in a similar role and be experienced in towing up to 3.5t.
