Role Description

The Plant Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based at our Dartford location.

The Plant Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing a range of construction plant and compaction equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Day-to-day tasks include conducting diagnostics and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, performing planned and reactive maintenance, and supporting plant operations by preparing equipment for hire and return.

The role also involves collaborating with operations and hire desk teams, maintaining accurate maintenance records, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental standards.

The Plant Engineer will contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance processes and support training and guidance for colleagues as needed.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong skills in Plant Engineering and Plant Maintenance for construction and compaction equipment.
  • Candidates should possess experience in Plant Operations, including safe equipment handling and operational support.
  • Candidates should possess effective Troubleshooting skills for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.
  • Candidates should possess knowledge of Power Generation systems related to plant and site equipment.
  • Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in mechanical, electrical, or plant engineering (e. g., NVQ, City & Guilds) is beneficial.
  • Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations within construction and plant hire environments.
