Role Description The Plant Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Chesterfield. The Plant Engineer will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing plant and hire equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, performing scheduled and reactive maintenance, and supporting plant operations teams with technical guidance. The role also involves keeping accurate maintenance records, adhering to health and safety standards, coordinating with colleagues to minimize equipment downtime, and contributing to continuous improvement of plant performance and reliability.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Plant Engineering and Plant Maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and performance.
- Experience in Plant Operations, including safe use, setup, and optimization of construction plant and hire equipment.
- Proficiency in Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, including fault diagnosis and root cause analysis.
- Knowledge of Power Generation systems related to plant equipment, including basic electrical systems and safety practices.
- Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in engineering, mechanical maintenance, or a related discipline.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance documentation.
- Commitment to health and safety, with awareness of relevant regulations and best practices in a plant environment.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and manage workload priorities.
- Previous experience in construction plant hire or heavy equipment maintenance is beneficial.
