We are looking for an experienced administrator to join us at Cleckheaton Group Practice. The successful candidate ideally should have SystmOne experience and have worked in a GP practice for a minimum of one year. You will answer the telephone and liaise with patients mainly over the phone. The main role of the position is to deal with all of the administrative duties associated with General Practice, including prescriptions, referrals, and covering on reception. The hours are quite specific in order to cover the site for all of the hours we are open. If you have worked in general practice or primary care before that would be useful but it is not essential; all of the training will be given.
Main duties of the job
- Typing clinical letters, reports and associated documentation
- Processing referrals efficiently via ERS
- Liaising with hospitals, community services and other agencies
- Processing SARs, insurance reports, solicitors letters and DVLA forms
- Prescriptions, issuing, reauthorising acute and repeat medication, EOL meds with the GPs assistance
- Matching and recoding
- Reception cover including dipping in to tasks to help
- S1 Reporting and Searches
- Assist Admin when short staffed
- Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers requests appropriately
- Always maintain a clean, tidy effective working area
- Support all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested

Job responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Medical Secretary to join our multidisciplinary team. You will be responsible for providing a wide range of secretarial and administrative duties, including PA support to Practice Partners and GPs, and administrative support to the wider multidisciplinary team. This includes the timely processing of clinical information (both electronic and hard copy) and liaising with internal and external services such as secondary care and community providers using the Electronic Referral Service (ERS).
Key Responsibilities
- Typing clinical letters, reports and associated documentation
- Processing referrals efficiently via ERS
- Liaising with hospitals, community services and other agencies
- Managing enquiries in an effective and professional manner
- Maintaining accurate referrals and patient records
- Scanning and attaching documents to patient healthcare records
- Inputting data and read coding on SystmOne
- Processing SARs, insurance reports, solicitors letters and DVLA forms
- Answering incoming phone calls and handling requests appropriately
- Supporting clinicians and Practice Partners with administrative and PA duties
- Supporting reception and providing cover when needed
- Participating in audits and practice searches as requested
- Maintaining a clean and organised working area
Qualifications
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
- IT or admin qualification at NVQ level III or above
- RSA level II or equivalent
