A dynamic individual is required for a growing Development Finance business based in Central London to assist with the due diligence, administration and management of its expanding senior loan portfolio.
Company: Clearwell Capital is a boutique finance house, specializing in the provision of funding to experienced SME property developers in the UK Real Estate Market. Since closing a new funding transaction with Europe's largest bank, we are on track to origination £100m in new loans in 2026 and need to grow the team to facilitate these higher lending levels.
Reports to: Head of Credit
Responsibilities to include:
- Operational review of relevant loan documentation
- Preparation of loan offer letters, instruction letters to the company’s lawyers, valuers and monitoring surveyors
- Review of reports on title, valuations and monitoring surveyor reports
- Co-ordinating with the Head of Credit regarding operational aspects of the closing process of all newly approved loans (e.g. due diligence, drawdowns, fees, conditions precedent and conditions subsequent)
- Ensuring that key loan information has been set up correctly on our software
- Prepare account/file maintenance process, including KYC verification, anti-money laundering collation and arranging files for credit review
- Presenting loans to credit committee for final sign off pre loan closing
- Monitoring of loans and key covenants as stated within the facility agreements
- Monthly review and update of loans on software system as QS reports are received, preparing payments against QS certificates as required for review with the ability to identify and escalate anything that appears of concern that is detailed within the reports
- Preparation of monthly statements and redemption statements for review
- Write and present credit applications for extension and amendment of existing loan terms
- Ensuring adherence to current policies and procedures and that company guidelines are accurately adopted
Skills/Experience:
- Must have 3+ years experience within UK property development finance
- Previous experience of dealing with development finance in a credit or portfolio management role
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be confident in working as part of a small team
