We are seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of fire and security installation projects, from contract handover through to completion and transition into service. This is a key role within the business, responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. With full accountability for programme, cost, quality, and stakeholder coordination, the Project Manager will play a vital role in protecting life and property while delivering a professional, consistent, and customer-focused service. This position offers the opportunity to work on varied and technically complex projects, collaborating with internal teams, clients, and supply chain partners to achieve outstanding outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage installation projects from initiation to completion, ensuring delivery in line with contractual, technical, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project programmes, monitoring progress and managing risks, changes, and dependencies.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards.
  • Manage project close-out, including documentation, certification, and handover to service teams.
  • Take ownership of Health & Safety performance on assigned projects.
  • Ensure all works are planned and executed in accordance with H&S legislation, company policies, and site-specific requirements.
  • Ensure RAMS, permits to work, and compliance documentation are prepared, reviewed, and approved prior to works commencing.
  • Promote a safety-first culture and intervene where unsafe practices are identified.
  • Ensure installation works align with approved designs, specifications, and relevant British Standards (e.g. BS 5839, BS 5266, BS EN 50131).
  • Monitor quality of installation works, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Manage defects, non-conformances, and remedial actions through to resolution.
  • Ensure system integrity, cause and effect compliance, and certification accuracy.
  • Manage subcontractors, ensuring they are competent, approved, and compliant with company and site requirements.
  • Coordinate internal engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure effective sequencing and resourcing.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and address issues relating to quality, safety, or delivery.
  • Manage project budgets, costs, variations, and change control.
  • Ensure accurate forecasting and cost tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support valuation, invoicing, and variation submissions in line with contractual requirements.
  • Minimise commercial risk through proactive project control.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide regular project updates, progress reports, and risk notifications.
  • Manage customer expectations and maintain strong professional relationships.
  • Identify risks, lessons learned, and opportunities for improvement across projects.
  • Support audits, inspections, and accreditation requirements.
  • Ensure accurate project records and reporting are maintained at all times.
  • Willingness to travel to customer and project sites as required.

Qualifications And Skills Required

  • Proven experience managing fire and/or security installation projects in a regulated, technical environment.
  • Experience delivering multiple projects simultaneously with full accountability for programme, cost, and quality.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Track record of successful project delivery from handover to completion.
  • Strong understanding of fire detection, alarm, security systems and installation practices.
  • Working knowledge of relevant British Standards and regulatory requirements (e.g. BS 5839, BS 5266, BS EN 50131).
  • Understanding of system design intent, commissioning processes, and handover requirements.
  • Experience working within NSI, SSAIB, or ISO-accredited environments.
  • Good working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and best practice.
  • Experience preparing, reviewing, and managing RAMS and permits to work.
  • Ability to identify risk, manage compliance, and enforce safe systems of work.
  • Experience managing budgets, variations, and cost control.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Competence in project management tools and reporting systems.
  • Ability to manage change and resolve issues proactively.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel to customer and project sites as required.
