Purpose of the Role
We are seeking a CCTV Installation Engineer to join the Clearway Technology team.
This role is responsible for the safe installation, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of CCTV, access control, and ANPR systems across a range of commercial environments.
Working with the latest technologies, including high-definition IP cameras and infra-red thermal imaging, you will ensure systems are installed to a high standard and remain fully operational, supporting 24/7 remote monitoring by our NSI Gold accredited Alarm Receiving Centre.

Key Responsibilities
- System Installation and Commissioning
- Install and commission CCTV, access control, and ANPR systems across commercial and construction sites.
- Ensure all work is completed to Clearway's safety, technical, and quality standards.
- Set up equipment to agreed configurations and confirm functionality on handover.
- Servicing and Maintenance
- Carry out routine maintenance and servicing of installed systems, identifying and resolving faults.
- Respond to emergency callouts or breakdowns, ensuring minimal disruption to client operations.
- Conduct regular performance checks and adjust equipment as needed to maintain system integrity.
- Health & Safety
- Work in line with our safe working practices, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments.
- Ensure compliance with site-specific safety rules and use of appropriate PPE.
- Report any incidents, near misses, or safety concerns promptly to the Operations Manager.
- Project Support and Collaboration
- Support the delivery of major and bespoke installation projects.
- Work independently or alongside other engineers and subcontractors as required.
- Maintain a collaborative, professional approach across all team interactions.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records, including service reports, test sheets, installation documentation, and inventory logs.
- Submit daily job sheets and updates through the company's reporting system.
- Provide timely updates on work status and highlight any recurring faults or equipment issues.
- Customer and Stakeholder Communication
- Represent Clearway in a professional manner on-site and during client interactions.
- Provide clear and courteous communication when explaining system functionality or repair outcomes.
- Support a positive customer experience by resolving queries or escalating issues where appropriate.
- Travel and Flexibility
- Travel across the UK to client sites as required.
- Be flexible with working hours, including occasional overnight stays or out-of-hours work, depending on business needs.
Assist the wider Clearway Technology Highways Team where required to cover holidays and illness.
Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Good level of technical knowledge and experience with CCTV systems, including IP-based solutions.
- Commissioning experience on all projects with a background in CCTV, Access Control, and Integrated Camera Systems and solar controller units.
- Basic understanding of electrical and electronic principles and diagnostic testing (e. g. multimeter use, continuity testing, fuse testing).
- Ability to fault-find and repair CCTV and related equipment.
- Working knowledge of system networking, firewalls, power issues, and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Physically fit – able to carry heavy loads as required.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to pass a DBS check (funded by the company).
- ECS, CSCS or SSSTS card
Desirable
- Experience with access control, door entry, and intruder alarm systems.
- Experience working on construction sites, highways, or similar environments with strong awareness of site rules and safety protocols.
- IT literacy with an understanding of remote monitoring and networked systems.
