Sensor Manufacturing / Service Technician
Location: Southampton
Salary: 27,780 – 30,000 (Pro-rata, DOE) + Pension + 25 Days Annual Leave + 8 Public Holidays
Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)

Clearwater Sensors Ltd. is a rapidly growing green‑tech company specialising in environmental sensor development. Founded in 2019, we design and manufacture cutting‑edge water chemistry analysers for applications such as water quality monitoring and industrial process analysis. With strong sales growth and multiple research grants secured, we are looking for a skilled Sensor Manufacturing / Service Technician to support our operations.
The Role
This position involves manufacturing, testing and servicing environmental sensors, ensuring quality control and supporting field deployments. It requires a hands‑on approach, working with electro‑mechanical components, fluidics and calibration processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and manufacture high‑quality sensor components and final products.
- Conduct testing, troubleshooting and servicing of production units and customer returns.
- Perform calibration procedures and quality control assessments.
- Maintain an organised and safe working environment, following 5S standards.
- Support stock management, report shortages and assist in procurement.
- Maintain tools, equipment and records for quality and compliance purposes.
- Provide occasional on‑site installation and customer support.
Skills and Experience
- Experience in electro‑mechanical assembly and testing.
- Familiarity with printed circuit board assembly and soldering.
- Basic knowledge of fluidics and chemical preparation (training provided).
- Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Qualifications
- GCSEs with relevant industry experience in manufacturing or servicing.
- Apprenticeship in a technical field or BTEC in engineering preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Right to work in the UK.
- Willingness to work off‑site occasionally.
