Our client is recruiting for a Fitter / Turner to join their workshop team on a permanent basis. The Fitter / Turner will have experience of working from mechanical drawings to build assemblies and experience of using manual Mills/ lathes to make components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build/assemble equipment
  • Understanding of the production process in relation to the products being made
  • Safely and accurately use manual Mills / Lathes to make components
  • Write up check lists to ensure all aspects of the projects are completed
  • Work in conjunction with R & D on projects through to successful completion
  • Accurately work to Mechanical Drawings when assembling or machining components
  • Inspects incoming mechanical parts against drawings
  • Work with minimal supervision for the completion of tasks within the deadline given
  • Receives BOMs/work orders/drawings from Mechanical Production Officer
  • Produce, repair and upgrade mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies
  • Assist in assembling, packing and general loading and unloading

Key Experience:

  • Qualification in either Electrical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Proven experience as an Assembly Fitter in a precision engineering environment
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools
  • Detail-oriented and committed to producing high-quality work
