Our client is recruiting for a Fitter / Turner to join their workshop team on a permanent basis. The Fitter / Turner will have experience of working from mechanical drawings to build assemblies and experience of using manual Mills/ lathes to make components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build/assemble equipment
- Understanding of the production process in relation to the products being made
- Safely and accurately use manual Mills / Lathes to make components
- Write up check lists to ensure all aspects of the projects are completed
- Work in conjunction with R & D on projects through to successful completion
- Accurately work to Mechanical Drawings when assembling or machining components
- Inspects incoming mechanical parts against drawings
- Work with minimal supervision for the completion of tasks within the deadline given
- Receives BOMs/work orders/drawings from Mechanical Production Officer
- Produce, repair and upgrade mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies
- Assist in assembling, packing and general loading and unloading
Key Experience:
- Qualification in either Electrical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Proven experience as an Assembly Fitter in a precision engineering environment
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent hand-eye coordination
- Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools
- Detail-oriented and committed to producing high-quality work
