The Senior Project Manager has a diverse range of responsibilities, including defining project scope, creating detailed implementation plans with internal, client, and third-party resources, and ensuring successful, on-time project completion. They provide regular status updates through reports and meetings, lead high-level steering committee meetings, and act as a trusted client relationship manager.
Additionally, they manage implementation budgets, actively seek opportunities for service improvements, and oversee the transition from Sales to Global Delivery before a project begins and from Global Delivery to Client Services after implementation.
Responsibilities:- Manages end-to-end execution of projects, ensuring they meet scope, timeline, and budget requirements.
- Executes project plan creation and maintenance, project budget management, change controls, risk and issue management.
- PM Skills (Methodologies, budgeting, etc.): Expertise in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.). Hands-on experience with budget management and risks/issues tracking & mitigation. Expertise in project managing the full lifecycle on projects of 6+ month duration and budget > $500k. Extensive experience working on client-facing projects alongside a global team of Engineers, Sales/Account Management, and customer support.
- BA Skills: Scope and document SOWs for existing clients.
- Communication/Stakeholder Mgmt Skills: Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Persistence and adaptability. Comfortable with ambiguity. Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual thinking, and strategic planning, and execution skills. Flexibility - comfortable with wearing many hats.
- Domain Expertise/Types of Projects: Project Management experience delivering pricing, risk, and trading platform solutions on a range of projects pre or post sales (i.e. large scale, complex initiatives, and tactical and/or strategic projects). Understanding of the trade lifecycle.
- Strategic Initiatives: Provide feedback & improve PM processes.
- Escalations/Project Oversight: Proactive work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision. Proactively mitigates project risks and issues, and has oversight and responsibility for the entire project independently. Builds strong relationships with internal/external stakeholders, resolves conflicts, and manages expectations for the entire project. Ability to provide actionable insights and recommendations to support high-level decision-making.
- 4-10 years total experience, with demonstrated project management or workstream/senior analyst experience.
- Must have client implementations experience.
- Financial Services Experience (Investment, Banking, Insurance, FinTech, etc.).
- Bachelor’s or master’s in relevant field e.g. project management, MBA, finance, economics etc.
- Knowledge of risk management or front office tools is good to have, but not essential.
