To take responsibility for the safe, compliant, and efficient execution of lifting operations on Clearview projects. Acting as both Slinger & Banksman and Site Supervisor, this role ensures all lifts are carried out to plan, all site teams work safely, and clients have confidence in Clearview’s operations.

Responsibilities
Lifting Operations
- Sling and guide loads safely, using appropriate equipment and approved techniques.
- Direct crane movements using recognised hand and radio signals.
- Inspect lifting accessories before use, ensuring certification, condition, and suitability.
- Establish and maintain exclusion zones for lifting operations.
- Halt operations immediately if unsafe conditions exist.
- Ensure all lifts are completed in line with lift plans and method statements.
Site Supervision
- Coordinate lifting works with crane operators, subcontractors, and other trades.
- Ensure compliance with RAMS, permits, and site-specific safety procedures.
- Deliver daily checks, briefings, and toolbox talks.
- Monitor site standards including PPE use, housekeeping, and safe behaviour.
- Maintain accurate records: lift plans, permits, checklists, and daily logs.
- Report hazards, incidents, and near misses, ensuring corrective action is taken.
Client and Team Leadership
- Act as the Clearview lead on site, keeping clients informed and reassured.
- Supervise and support team members, addressing performance or conduct issues.
- Promote Clearview’s values of reliability, trust, and quality in all dealings.
- Provide feedback and lessons learned to improve future operations.
Competence & requirements
- Certified Slinger & Banksman (CPCS, NPORS, or equivalent).
- Valid CSCS card.
- Knowledge of LOLER, PUWER, and safe lifting/working at height regulations.
- Supervisor training (SSSTS/SMSTS or equivalent).
- Full UK driving licence.
- Proven experience in lifting operations and site supervision.
- First Aid at Work (or Emergency First Aid).

Authority & Accountability
- Reports to the Contract Lift Manager.
- Authorised to stop lifting operations immediately if unsafe conditions are present.Accountable for ensuring lifting operations comply with RAMS, permits, and regulations.
- Responsible for accurate and timely reporting of site activity, hazards, and incidents.
Measures of Success
- No lifting-related safety incidents or ignored near misses during probation.
- All lifts completed in line with plans, RAMS, and permits, with full records maintained.
- Jobs delivered on time and to the agreed specification.
- Clients report confidence in the safety and professionalism of Clearview.
- Site team works cohesively, consistently upholding Clearview’s standards.
- Active contribution to identifying improvements in lifting operations.
Development & Training
- Maintain all mandatory certifications and cards, providing evidence of renewal when required.
- Undertake additional training as required by Clearview to support safe and compliant operations.
- Share knowledge and feedback to improve processes and support team development.
