Role Overview: Our client is looking to appoint a commercially driven and highly motivated M&A Lead to support their acquisition-led growth strategy across Wales. This is a unique opportunity for someone with strong business development, commercial negotiation or M&A experience to identify and secure acquisition opportunities within the property sector. The role offers direct exposure to senior leadership, genuine influence over business growth strategy and the opportunity to play a major part in scaling a rapidly growing property group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identifying estate agency, lettings and property management acquisition opportunities across Wales
- Building and maintaining a live pipeline of potential acquisitions
- Approaching business owners confidentially and professionally
- Developing relationships with accountants, solicitors, brokers, lenders and property professionals
- Tracking competitor activity, branch coverage and market opportunities
- Managing acquisition conversations with founders and directors
- Understanding seller motivations and commercial objectives
- Assessing acquisition opportunities including profitability, recurring income and strategic fit
- Supporting negotiations around purchase price, deal structures and earn-outs
- Coordinating due diligence processes alongside internal and external advisers
- Reviewing financial and operational information including management accounts and compliance records
- Preparing acquisition summaries and commercial reports for senior leadership
- Supporting post-acquisition integration and transition planning
- Maintaining momentum across multiple live opportunities simultaneously
- Contributing towards the wider long-term growth strategy of the business
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience within M&A, corporate finance, business development, commercial negotiations, estate agency growth or related sectors
- Strong commercial awareness and financial literacy
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- Confident speaking with business owners and senior decision-makers
- Strong negotiation and influencing ability
- Ability to generate opportunities independently
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Professional, discreet and commercially minded approach
- Strong work ethic and self-motivated attitude
- Ability to manage multiple projects and negotiations simultaneously
- Estate agency, legal, accountancy, recruitment, business brokerage or private equity experience highly advantageous
- Full UK driving licence preferred
