Site Manager (FTC 12 months) – Sussex (Ref:CRH184)

Department: Contingency Operations
Reporting to: IA Operations Manager
Location: Sussex
Contract type: Fixed Term Contract 12 months
Hours of work: 40 hours per week (12 hour shifts – 4 days on, 4 days off, nights and days, self‑rota)
Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 per annum
Security clearance: Counter Terrorism Clearance (CTC)*

Key Responsibilities

  • Full delegated responsibility for day‑to‑day operational running of the site, ensuring compliance with the Statement of Requirements (SOR).
  • Onsite health & safety, safeguarding and wellbeing of staff, service users and visitors.
  • First point of contact for team leaders, subcontractors, Onsite Home Office representatives and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure contractual agreements are adhered to and that Clearsprings interests are met commercially and in a timely manner.
  • Flexible work pattern including nights, weekends and a 4/5‑week rotating shift pattern.

Procedures

  • Daily close and effective liaison with stakeholders such as the Home Office, sub‑contractors, local GPs, PHE, HSE and Migrant Help.
  • Maintain all mandatory HSE details: Fire Risk Assessments, occupation certification/licensing, fire doors, extinguisher standards and inspection schedules.
  • Keep a complete register of all expenditure, including submission dates, approval receipts and purchase order numbers.
  • Maintain comprehensive photographic records of the site for evidence of work.
  • Undertake regular walk‑round inspections to log defects.
  • Represent CRH at Home Office, CFPIG and other stakeholder meetings.
  • Provide coverage as required for other site managers.
  • Update site SOPs, Business Continuity Plan, Emergency Evacuation Plan, Fire Emergency Plan, Covid‑19 Management Plan, and Infection Control SOPs.

Skill and Experience Requirements

  • Experience managing staff and subcontractors operationally and commercially.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow up on all issues.
  • Rapid decision‑making, particularly in safety‑critical situations.
  • Prioritisation of activities to meet deadlines and communicate changes effectively.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and support for vulnerable residents.
  • Experience with property defect identification, site inspections and repair completion to a high standard.
  • Knowledge of health and safety statutory requirements, including fire safety prioritisation.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Work closely with line manager and team members.
  • Participate in meetings, provide on‑the‑job training and cover for other staff as needed.
  • Regular liaison with sub‑contractor managers.
  • Attend mandatory stakeholder meetings with the Home Office, police, CPFIG and other bodies.

  • Monitor own progress, complete core learning and development programmes.
  • Adhere to the Personal Development Plan.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all personal data in line with Clearsprings Group policies.
