To provide on-site security presence and support across asylum accommodation properties, ensuring the safety and welfare of service users, staff, and assets. The Site Security Officer will act as a visible deterrent, respond to incidents, and uphold the standards of security and safeguarding in line with the AASC contract and Schedule 2 requirements.
Procedures
- Maintain a visible and professional security presence at designated accommodation sites.
- Monitor access control, conduct patrols, and ensure site integrity.
- Respond to incidents and escort to the Security Team Leader as appropriate.
- Support service users in maintaining a safe living environment.
- Complete incident reports, HPNs, and other documentation accurately and promptly.
- Assist with safeguarding referrals and protective measures for vulnerable individuals.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, data protection, and contractual obligations.
- Operate CCTV and other surveillance systems as required.
- Attend training sessions and briefings to maintain operational readiness.
- Communicate effectively with service users, colleagues, and external agencies.
- Be responsive to changing site needs and flexible with working hours.
- Always maintain confidentiality and data security.
- Support other sites or regions when required.
Essential Requirements
- SIA Licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervision).
- Experience in front-line security or similar role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond to incidents effectively.
- Basic IT skills for reporting and documentation.
- Understanding of safeguarding and duty of care principles.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
