Job title: Housing Officer – Initial Accommodation (IA)

Department: Contingency Operations

Reporting to: Initial Accommodation Team Leader

Location: Bournemouth and Chichester

Contract type: Permanent

Hours of work: 40 hours p/w (Mon – Friday, 8:30am – 5pm)

Salary: £32,000.00 per annum

The Housing Officer is responsible for managing all aspects of the Initial Accommodation (IA) Housing and those working on site, by providing guidance and practical support to all team members and safeguarding service users. The Postholder ensures the efficiency of operations whilst guaranteeing compliance and alignment to the culture. Effectively planning time to maintain accurate records, keep systems up to date and meet business need, whilst meeting KPO’s and safeguarding service users.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and prioritise property inspections and audits
  • Report on the outcome of inspections
  • Offer guidance and support to your team members to ensure the correct standards and compliance is achieved
  • Maintain professional communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure team training is up to date to support the requirements of the contract and to support the successful completion of the role
  • Provide on call cover during peak times or emergencies
  • Meet KPOs within the timeframe given
  • Ensure the safeguarding of all service users with the IA accommodation
  • Handle complaints and respond appropriately
  • Prepare and plan for the extensive travel required as part of this role

  • Collaborate with others, attending meetings as required
  • Support team members and provide on-the-job training
  • Provide cover for other staff as agreed by line manager

  • Ensure all records are maintained and kept up-to-date according to company policies and procedures
  • Maintain regular contact with your line manager, keeping them updated on any issues that may arise

  • Undertake all core learning and development programmes as required
  • Undertake relevant learning according to agreed Personal Development Plan
