Reporting to the Health and Safety ISO Manager, the Health and Safety ISO Officer supports the Risk and Compliance function in ensuring regulatory compliance, identifying risks and process improvements. Key components of the role cover the assessment and review of company regulatory policy requirements, regular internal auditing and supporting the Health and Safety ISO Manager in ISO audit preparation.
This postholder promotes health and safety to all stakeholders within the business and regularly monitors that health and safety systems are properly administered in order to meet the statutory obligations in this regard.
Procedures- Monitor correct application of internal health and safety processes within a set geographical area.
- Conduct desktop and site audits of both our own sites and suppliers, reporting findings and key risks for the business to the Health and Safety Manager.
- Provide advice on the application and interpretation of health and safety legislation.
- Present findings to the Health and Safety Manager and support delivery in monthly supplier review meetings as and when required.
- Collaborate with and support Client Service and Operations departments to ensure monthly reporting.
- Work with all members of the compliance team, including the Group Lead ISO Compliance Auditor, to ensure an overarching approach to health and safety and compliance.
- Assess incidents or near misses whilst performing root cause analysis and ongoing monitoring.
- Report key functional deliverables to the Health and Safety Manager, as issues arise, and on a monthly basis.
- Assist the department in handling and responding to complaints.
- The ability to travel to the various Group offices and locations to conduct appropriate risk assessments and regulatory visits.
- Produce monthly reporting and commentary of health and safety and compliance monitoring across responsible area to the Health and Safety Manager.
- Work closely with your line manager and other compliance team members.
- Collaborate with others, attending meetings as required.
- Support team members and provide on-the-job training.
- Provide cover for other staff as agreed by line manager.
- Keep up-to-date with all written and verbal communications (i.e. emails/messages/calls).
- Ensure all records are maintained and kept up-to-date according to company policies and procedures.
- Monitor own work levels, progress and development in the role.
- Undertake all core learning and development programmes as required.
- Undertake relevant learning according to agreed Personal Development Plan.
- All employees are responsible for ensuring any personal data which Clearsprings Group holds, and for which they are responsible, is kept securely and is not disclosed to any third party unless that third party has been specifically authorised by Clearsprings Group to receive that information and has entered into a confidentiality agreement.
- When completing internal audit work, they must ensure that the relevant findings and results are only communicated via the appropriate channels, avoiding disclosure directly to any local colleagues.
- Any other duties within the scope of responsibility and ability, as required, inclusive of providing similar support to any other local company project.
- Maintain a good understanding of the legislation relating to the AAS contract and the associated Statement of Requirements (SOR).
- Take an active part in the monthly internal audit activity including property/site visits, assessment of activities and review of the company’s internal systems; must be able to communicate with colleagues at all levels within the business.
