We are seeking an accomplished Compliance Lead (Home Lending) to join our Finance, Legal and Regulatory team. You’ll work directly with the Head of Risk & Compliance, supporting ClearScore’s provision of secured lending advice and the development of innovative new initiatives. You’ll ensure that we’re operating in line with applicable regulations and our internal policies and procedures. This role will be based in Manchester, and will have significant influence on the culture within the Home Lending business. We pride ourselves on being a team that delivers fast and supports the wider business with their exciting new projects. We strive to approach Compliance in a modern way, by taking a risk-based approach and being a helper rather than a hindrance.

What you will be doing:

  • Engage and Advise: Providing expert advice on complex Compliance topics to support the Home Lending business.
  • Investigate and Monitor: Responding to any irregularities or instances of non-compliance. Monitoring compliance with laws, regulations and internal policies.
  • Learn and Train: Keeping up to date with relevant laws and regulations, and training employees on these where required.
  • Collaborate and Contribute: Working closely with other departments to create a culture of compliance, and ensuring there are robust and effective controls within the organisation.
  • Support Governance: Leading on general administrative duties (such as policy writing or process creation).

Skills we'd love you to have:

  • 4+ years Compliance experience at an FCA regulated business, with great knowledge of MCOB.
  • Experience in a similar environment, ideally having worked at a FinTech, mortgage lender/broker or other fast-paced environment.
  • The ability and desire to learn new topics and expand knowledge into additional areas of regulatory compliance.
  • An analytical mindset and the ability to deal with ambiguity.
  • Excellent proactive stakeholder management.
  • Extensive experience dealing with internal teams (such as Operations, Product, Engineering or Commercial).
