We are looking for a talented Analytics Engineer to join our Data Mission, where you’ll transform data into valuable insights that enhance user experiences and empower our analyst community while encouraging best data modelling practices. Using a cutting-edge tech stack including dbt, Databricks, and Kafka, you'll define the standards that the team works to and build the data products that power decisions for millions of users.
What you will be doing:
- Collaborating with teams across our business to design and build data products that directly support our 26 million users to make more empowered financial decisions, serving the operational platform and CRM.
- As part of an engineering team, building high quality and reliable data pipelines.
- Upholding best practice standards across our data, from data modelling conventions and dbt patterns to testing, documentation, and observability.
- Solving business problems creatively and automating day-to-day processes.
- Taking technical ownership of data initiatives, leading delivery end-to-end across multiple components, stakeholders, and delivery phases.
- Investigating, communicating and resolving data related incidents with the team.
Skills we'd love you to have:
- You not only have the technical expertise but are also able to understand and deliver on business requirements and analysts needs.
- You are experienced in SQL and dbt, and you apply this to design and build robust, scalable data transformations on platforms like Databricks.
- You have strong communication skills, and the ability to explain technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
- You have experience diagnosing and resolving production issues, and you design pipelines with testing, monitoring, and maintainability in mind.
- You have experience with orchestration tooling (e.g. Databricks Workflows).
- You write clear and effective documentation.
- Familiarity with data activation tools (e.g. Hightouch) or streaming platforms (e.g. Kafka) is a bonus.
- Showing genuine curiosity about the many ways in which our data is used to impact our business and our users.
