We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our Data & Analytics team. Data Scientists play a key role within ClearScore, driving strategy and decision-making at all levels, which ultimately benefits our users, partners, and other teams within the business. We’re seeking an adaptable, curious, and challenge-loving individual to join our growing Global Targeting team. You will build, optimise, and operationalise predictive models to enhance our user experience through improved personalisation, contributing to best practice frameworks to enable better ways of working across the discipline. Your contributions will directly support the business in realising our overall strategy.
What you will be doing:
- Managing the end-to-end build of predictive models to enable a more personalised user experience through data-driven Targeting
- Interpreting and communicating the outputs of models and analysis, including actionable insights
- Automating the model development and maintenance lifecycle
- Assessing the impact and suitability of new models within the strategies utilising them
- Contributing to shared tooling to improve ways of working across the team
- Supporting the ongoing growth of ClearScore across all markets
Skills We’d Love You To Have:
- A self-starter mindset: curious, collaborative, and committed to continuous learning.
- A desire to deeply understand a problem and its importance to the business before attempting to solve it
- A drive to understand our users, products, and how users interact with them, enhancing your ability to generate meaningful features and solutions relevant to the problem being addressed
- The ability to explain to technical and non-technical audiences the key learnings/findings from complex analysis and modelling exercises
- High proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience in dbt and R being advantageous. A demonstrable ability to write clean, production-ready code is highly desirable
- A strong understanding of multiple statistical and Machine Learning (ML) techniques and their suitability under various scenarios
- Thorough knowledge of and experience related to the end-to-end ML model build lifecycle, including feature engineering, hyper-parameter tuning, deployment, and model maintenance (in a production environment)
- A solid grasp of common approaches to experimentation and impact evaluation, including statistical and observational methods
- A good understanding of consumer lending and the key drivers of credit and affordability strategies
