Role Description: This role is for a strong hands-on AWS app developer software engineer(s) who can help design and implement controls, tooling, and engineering practices. The focus is on enabling engineers to use AWS core platform services and technologies safely and effectively through the right mix of internal consulting and activation.

  • Assessing team maturity and needs through outreach and supporting the engineering principles needed to migrate app workloads to the new platform
  • Pairing with teams and hands-on coaching/doing

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate current patterns for enterprise use of AWS applications and tooling
  • Design and implement practical guardrails, controls, and engineering patterns for AWS application development
  • Contribute to definition of path to platform, support team adoption and application migration
  • Help define how teams should comprehend the platform capability
  • Explore changes to the development practices to drive adoption
  • Run research, proof-of-concept work, and technical alignment with teams
  • Work across engineering, platform, security, and adjacent enterprise teams to drive uptake and adoption
  • Help shape scalable practices and AWS maturity among teams

Required Experience:

  • Strong hands-on background as an AWS application development software engineer
  • Strong technical understanding of the AWS ecosystem with a detailed understanding of developer tooling and capabilities and technologies
  • Experience working with step functions and applications in complex enterprise domains
  • Ability to work in ambiguous problem spaces and turn research or experimentation into practical implementation
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work across technical disciplines and stakeholder groups
  • Curiosity, sound engineering judgement, and comfort operating across discipline boundaries
  • The ability to act as an internal consultant, overcome resistance and misalignment to drive platform adoption

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience with enterprise adoption of AI-assisted development tools
  • Familiarity with secure developer environments, enterprise guardrails, or policy enforcement
  • Experience with containerised development environments or remote/offloaded development models
  • Exposure to telemetry, usage analytics, or engineering reporting pipelines
  • Experience in regulated or control-heavy enterprise environments
  • Some data engineering or analytics capability, particularly where reporting and insight generation are part of the role
