We are seeking a skilled Senior Cloud Engineer (GPC) to lead the end-to-end delivery of an Oracle database migration to the cloud (GCP). This role focuses on building and optimizing cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code principles, while ensuring seamless integration across application, database, network, and security domains.
You will design and implement scalable infrastructure using Terraform, develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitLab, and work closely with DBAs to deploy and configure Oracle databases on GCP. The role also involves managing network connectivity, coordinating firewall and security changes, and supporting all phases of migration—including testing, rehearsals, and production cutover.
The ideal candidate brings strong experience in Terraform, GitLab, Linux, and cloud environments (specifically GCP), along with working knowledge of database systems. Experience with database migrations—especially Oracle—is highly desirable. You will play a key role in ensuring performance, stability, and security, while producing clear documentation and enabling a smooth transition to business-as-usual operations.
Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end delivery of the Oracle migration.
- Deploy and improve cloud infrastructure using Terraform, following Infrastructure-as-Code best practices.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitLab to automate infrastructure provisioning.
- Collaborate closely with the DBA to deploy and configure Oracle Databases on GCP.
- Coordinate all network connectivity between client applications, on-premises systems, and the migrated databases.
- Raise and manage firewall and connectivity change requests with network and security teams.
- Engage across application, database, network, and security teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery.
- Support migration testing, rehearsals, and production cutover activities, including rollback planning.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring stability, performance, and security compliance.
- Produce clear technical documentation and operational runbooks to support transition to BAU teams.
