This is an opportunity to help build the organisation from the ground up, use your voice to drive change and transform organisations and problem domains.
Role
We are hiring for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead an engineering function within one of our client projects. The function builds, tests, and ships software — spanning automated deployment, CI/CD, trunk-based development, TDD/BDD, pair programming, and the safe adoption of AI-generated code in production.
Key Responsibilities
- Estimate and rank the technical health backlog and provide suggestions for improvement
- Track delivery against the plan and report on progress
- Salesforce regression testing — fully automate regression testing, reducing timelines
- Auto deployment / CI/CD — enable engineers to push straight to production (AWS, containers, etc.) in a simple operation
- AI teams review — review the current setup of the two teams already coding with Claude Benchmark, including choice of IDE (Roo, VS Code, IntelliJ, Cursor, Windsurf) and choice of underlying model
Required Experience
- Previous experience in an engineering leadership role, ideally from a big tech or banking/financial services background; candidates with experience in both are a strong bonus
- Hands-on experience with automated deployment and CI/CD pipelines enabling engineers to push straight to production (AWS, containers)
- Practical experience with trunk-based development at scale
- Experience embedding TDD/BDD and pair programming as standard team practice
- Direct experience safely shipping AI-generated code to production, including evaluating AI coding tools/IDEs and models
- Experience designing and building automated regression test suites to replace lengthy manual testing cycles
- Strong hands-on technical background across modern engineering stacks (e.g. Java microservices, Python, Golang)
- A track record of driving engineering change and influencing teams with strong stakeholder management and credibility
Desirable Experience
- Familiarity with the Salesforce platform and Salesforce testing/release practices
- Experience with workflow orchestration frameworks, e.g. Temporal
- Exposure to legacy or mainframe modernisation and decommissioning (DB2, Oracle, Hadoop/Teradata, Ab Initio)
- Experience with data platforms such as PySpark, Databricks, and Snowflake
- Familiarity with React/Angular front-end ecosystems
- Experience benchmarking engineering practices against external models
