About ClearPath Studio
ClearPath Studio is a UK web design business building bespoke, fast websites for small UK companies — barbershops, trades, hospitality. We deliver a full custom site in under a week for a flat fee starting at £800. Most of our prospects are sole traders running successful businesses with a poor or non-existent web presence.
The role
We're hiring a self-employed cold caller to phone UK businesses from a pre-built lead list and book qualified discovery calls for the founder. The lead list is already audited and tiered (no-website, social-only, booking-only, directory-only, outdated, etc.), each lead ships with a specific pitch hook, and call outcomes are logged in our CRM. Your job is to dial, qualify, and book — not to sell. The founder handles the discovery call and the close.
What we provide:
- A pre-built lead pipeline — ~1,800 UK leads scraped, audited, and ready to call, with new cohorts added regularly
- A custom CRM with click-to-call, disposition tracking, automatic stage transitions, callback reminders, and call recording integration via Ringover
- A Ringover phone account so calls don't come from your personal number
- Tested call scripts and per-lead pitch hooks — you're never reading cold
- A clear qualification framework so you know which prospects to push for a meeting
- Direct access to the founder for calibration in the first 2 weeks
Day-to-day:
- Dial 30–50 UK businesses per day from the CRM queue
- Open with the lead's specific pitch hook (already pre-written for each lead)
- Qualify the prospect — decision-maker? Real interest in a website? Will they show up?
- Log every call outcome in the CRM in one click — the system handles pipeline updates and callback reminders automatically
- Send a weekly Friday summary email — calls made, meetings booked, any script feedback
What we expect:
- 30 hours per week minimum of active outreach, scheduled at your discretion within Mon–Fri 9am–5pm UK time
- A target of 5+ qualified meetings booked per week after the first month's calibration
- Clean CRM hygiene — no skipped logging, no gaming dispositions, no booking unqualified meetings to inflate commission
- Professional manner on the phone — you speak for the brand
- UK-based, native or near-native English, comfortable with regional accents
Pay structure (transparent):
- £400/month base retainer, invoiced monthly, paid within 7 days
- £80 per Qualified Attended Meeting — paid as commission. Defined precisely in the retainer (real prospect, scheduled call, contractor present, prospect attends and stays at least 10 minutes on-topic)
- No commission for no-shows, voicemails, or unqualified meetings
Realistic earnings:
- 5 meetings/week = £2,000/month = ~£24k OTE
- 8 meetings/week = £2,960/month = ~£35k OTE
- 10 meetings/week = £3,600/month = ~£43k OTE
This is a self-employed contractor role, paid on a rolling monthly basis. You handle your own income tax and NICs. First 30 days are an initial review period — either side can terminate on 7 days' notice.
What this isn't:
- Not a salaried employee role. Not eligible for sick pay, holiday pay, pension contributions, or PAYE
- Not quota-only — the £400 base is unconditional, but repeated under-performance (under 70% of target after the first month) is grounds for termination
- Not appointment setting for someone else's leads — you call our leads, into our CRM, on our scripts, for our brand
What you'll need on day one:
- A UK bank account for invoicing
- A reliable internet connection
- A laptop or desktop (web-based CRM and Ringover web/desktop app)
- A quiet space to call from
- Self-employed status (UTR number) — or willingness to register before the first invoice
How to apply:
Apply through Reed with the following:
- A short cover note (3–5 sentences). Tell us who you are, your cold calling experience, and one prospect type or industry you've closed before.
- In the cover note, also include a written sample of what you would say to a UK barbershop with no website to leave them a voicemail they would actually call back about. Around 60–90 seconds when read aloud.
- Your earliest start date and rough hours per week you would commit to.
