Responsibilities for an Apprentice
- Help create a warm, safe and engaging environment for children
- Support the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities
- Encourage children's learning, development and independence
- Work alongside experienced Nursery Practitioners and learn best practices in childcare
- Support children with their daily routines, including mealtimes, playtime and sleep
- Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety procedures at all times
- Support the wider nursery team with the day-to-day running of the setting
Apprenticeship Information
You will be enrolled on an appropriate Early Years Apprenticeship, working towards either a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification depending on your experience and circumstances.
Your apprenticeship will include:
- Regular workplace-based learning supported by your training provider and line manager
- Dedicated off-the-job training
- Development of the skills, knowledge and behaviours required for a career in Early Years
- Completion of the required assessments
- Functional Skills support in English or Maths where required
Prospects
Once you have successfully completed your apprenticeship, there will be the opportunity to potentially progress into a permanent qualified Nursery Practitioner position and continue developing your career within Early Years education.
