Clinical Operations Lead

Job Title : Contract Clinical Operations Lead – Country / Site Facing

Location : Hybrid – 2 days in the office (Welwyn Garden City), with site visits across the UK. Flexibility considered.

Contract : 6 months, full-time (37.5 hrs per week) – Inside IR35

Rate : £339.27 – £376.97 per day (PAYE basic) / £450 – £500 per day (UMB)

We\’re looking for an experienced Clinical Operations Lead (Country / Site Facing) to manage UK clinical study set-up and delivery. The ideal candidate will have recent hands-on UK start-up experience, plus strong knowledge of contracts, costing templates, and collaboration with R&D.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the operational delivery of one or more studies in the UK, across all phases.
• Act as the UK representative within global study teams.
• Build strong site relationships and oversee recruitment activities.
• Guide and support Clinical Research Associates (CRAs) to ensure successful study delivery.
• Manage study timelines, budgets, risks, and operational plans.
• Ensure quality, compliance, and adherence to diversity and inclusion plans.
• Respond to IRB, Ethics Committee, and Health Authority queries as required.
• Collaborate effectively with local Medical Affairs and cross-functional colleagues.

Requirements

• Essential : Recent UK study start-up experience.
• Knowledge of contracts and costing templates.
• Experience in clinical trial operations, ideally with exposure to R&D functions.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration abilities.
• Preferred : Previous experience as a Start-up Specialist .
• Candidates must be available on 1 months\’ notice or less
