This role is hybrid, with a minimum of 1 day per week (Thursdays) in our Nottingham office.
Overview
At Clearing, we’re building the most secure, intelligent, and intuitive financial platform for modern businesses. We’re looking for a mid-level full stack developer to join our product & technology team — someone who wants to take real ownership and shape the future of financial automation.
You\'ll work across our TypeScript/NestJS backend and React frontend, collaborating directly with product and operations teams. If you\'re the kind of developer who thrives on autonomy, loves clean code, and wants to make meaningful technical decisions — this is your opportunity to build core systems from the ground up.
Role & Responsibilities
- Develop scalable features across our NestJS APIs and React frontend
- Create and maintain integrations with third-party services
- Work closely with product, design, and ops teams to ship high-impact features
- Take ownership of architectural decisions and help shape how we build software
- Contribute to code reviews, testing practices, and continuous improvement of the dev process
Knowledge and Experience
To be successful in this role, we would expect to see:
- 2–5 years of experience in full stack or frontend development
- Comfortable working across backend APIs and modern frontend tooling
- Familiar with REST APIs, clean code principles, and secure data handling
- A collaborative mindset with a desire to take ownership and lead areas of the product
- Experience with AWS, Docker, or infrastructure-as-code tooling
- Familiarity with React Router and client-side routing strategies
- Knowledge of UI component libraries like Tailwind, Chakra, or Material UI
- Exposure to LLMs or AI tools (e.g. OpenAI, Claude, LangChain)
- Background in fintech, compliance, or data-heavy applications
Why join our Tech Team?
- High ownership: You\'ll lead features end-to-end and shape technical decisions
- Lean and agile: A true startup environment with fast feedback loops and close collaboration
- Build from the ground up: No legacy baggage — just clean architecture and clear goals
- Modern tech stack: TypeScript, NestJS, React, and emerging AI integrations
