Static Legionella Water Services Technician - INITIAL 5 YEAR FRAMEWORK
Location: DONCASTER, SOUTH YORKSHIRE
Our client is a Building Services specialist with a strong presence in the Commercial/NHS sector. Due to continued growth they require a Legionella Water Hygiene Technician to be based on an NHS facility in Doncaster.
The role of Legionella Water Services/Hygiene Technician is to support the plumbing team with delivering Legionella (L8) minor remedials and system dosing of hot and cold-water systems.
Responsibilities
- Temperature monitoring and general HSG274 water hygiene tasks
- Outlet / Shower descaling
- Collection of water samples
- Tank inspection/Cleaning
- Chlorination and disinfection works
- Testing, servicing, and maintaining thermostatic mixing valves
- Plumbing tasks, e.g. dead-leg removal, water tank component upgrades, valve replacement, pipework modifications
- The ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- 2 years\' experience in legionella monitoring related tasks as per HSG 274 part 2 & HTM 04-01 guidelines is desirable but not essential. Training will be given.
- 2 years\' experience in carrying out general plumbing tasks is essential along with a recognised plumbing qualification/s.
- Experience in carrying out water system cleaning and disinfection is desirable but not essential.
- Knowledge of conducting legionella risk assessments would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of CLO2 dosing systems & testing would be an advantage.
- Legionella Risk Assessment experience desirable.
- Experience: Legionella Monitoring: 2 years (preferred); Water system cleaning and disinfection: 1 year (preferred); CL02 Dosing Systems: 1 year (preferred)
