ClearCourse is seeking an experienced Head of Infrastructure & Cloud to lead our hosting strategy and cloud platform capability across our growing portfolio of software businesses. Reporting to the Director of Platform Operations, this is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping and managing a secure, scalable, and cost-effective infrastructure estate across cloud and hosted environments. You'll lead a team of Cloud and Infrastructure Engineers, driving platform reliability, governance, and operational excellence while working closely with Security, SRE, Platform Engineering, and Finance teams. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically credible leader who enjoys balancing strategic direction with hands‑on operational oversight in a complex, multi‑environment technology landscape.
What you’ll do:
- Define and deliver ClearCourse's hosting and cloud infrastructure strategy
- Lead and develop a team of Cloud and Infrastructure Engineers
- Oversee the design, provisioning, and management of cloud and hosted environments
- Drive Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) standards and cloud architecture best practices across the Group
- Ensure infrastructure environments are secure, resilient, and highly available
- Partner with Security teams to maintain robust access controls, logging, and compliance standards
- Support disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity planning
- Collaborate with Platform Engineering to support CI/CD infrastructure requirements
- Manage cloud spend, optimisation initiatives, and FinOps activities alongside Finance teams
- Ensure effective monitoring and operational governance across the infrastructure estate
Experience:
- Experience within a PE-backed, acquisitive, or multi-product technology organisation
- Knowledge of CI/CD infrastructure requirements and platform engineering practices
- Experience supporting disaster recovery and business continuity programmes
- Exposure to M&A activity, including integration of acquired infrastructure environments
