Role Purpose
To supervise and coordinate specialist cleaning operations, ensuring high standards of service delivery through effective supervision of staff, equipment, and resources. The role requires hands-on involvement in industrial cleaning activities alongside supervisory responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day specialist and industrial cleaning activities
- Allocate labour and equipment efficiently to meet operational requirements
- Ensure all work is completed to agreed specifications, deadlines, and quality standards
- Supervise, motivate, and support cleaning operatives
- Supervise the allocation, maintenance, and safe use of specialist cleaning equipment whilst on site
- Ensure all equipment is fit for purpose and compliant with relevant regulations
- Ensure full compliance with instructions and risk assessments provided
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure safe systems of work are followed
- Report accidents, incidents, and near misses and implement any immediate corrective actions
- Act as a point of contact for clients on-site
- Build and maintain positive working environment
- Respond to on-site client queries
- Supervise/undertake specialist and industrial cleaning tasks
- Operate machinery such as floor scrubbers, pressure washers, and other specialist equipment
Person Specification - Essential Criteria
- Proven experience in specialist and/or industrial cleaning
- Demonstrable experience supervising or managing cleaning teams
- Experience in resource planning and equipment allocation
- Full clean-ish UK Driving Licence (manual)
Knowledge & Skills
- Experience working with risk assessments and method statements (RAMS)
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and leadership abilities
- Competence in using cleaning machinery and specialist equipment
Desirable Criteria
- Valid CSCS Card
- IPAF Qualification
- First Aid qualification
