If that excites you, how about joining our Security Engineering team as a Security Engineer, reporting to the team’s Engineering Manager? We work closely with technology leadership to ensure security is woven into all processes. We are a remote-first team with members all over the UK.

ClearBank is committed to harnessing cutting-edge technologies, such as AI, AKS, automation, and scalable solutions, to secure a competitive edge in the marketplace. Our responsibility is to ensure these innovations are adopted securely, enabling the business to move forward safely. The security engineering team works with software development teams to improve application security and provides security oversight and support to many other areas of the business.

Your role includes:

  • Working alongside other security engineers to gain familiarity with the organisation’s processes and technologies.
  • The opportunity to build your skills in AI security, application security, and to keep up to date with the latest technology.
  • Collaborating with software development and platform teams to help them deliver and maintain secure products using modern technologies.
  • Championing security best practices and running security consultations/training sessions.
  • Trialling new technologies and paving the way for their adoption.
  • Supporting existing security tooling and evaluating new tools as they become available.
  • Risk-based vulnerability management, taking a pragmatic approach to balancing security, customer, and business needs.
  • Communicating these risks to the business.

To excel in this role, you’ll also need:

  • Experience in writing code and working in a cloud-native environment. ClearBank primarily uses Azure, .NET, Terraform, and Kubernetes, so experience with these (or equivalent technologies) is beneficial.
  • Adaptability and commitment to continuous learning and self-development.
  • Great communication skills to clearly articulate security risks and improvements to a variety of stakeholders around the business.
  • Good security knowledge and enthusiasm for software security.
  • Understanding of common software vulnerabilities and the ability to describe them to different audiences.
  • Be a motivated team player who is delivery-focused and can suggest solutions as to how things can be done better.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in a fintech environment or similar upscale organisation.
  • Experience working with AI security and governance and leveraging the latest technology to stay ahead of the attackers.
