You’ll be joining Team Manul within the Infrastructure Cluster at ClearBank, supporting and evolving our SWIFT infrastructure, which underpins critical payment messaging and connectivity across the platform. This role has been intentionally designed to balance Run the Bank (RTB) responsibility with change and improvement work, giving you exposure to both live production support and platform development. You’ll work within a small, experienced team that owns a mission‑critical financial messaging platform, where learning, technical progression and long‑term SME development are strongly encouraged. You’ll be supported with ongoing training, mentoring, and hands-on experience across the platform.

You will be:

  • Supporting the day‑to‑day operation of a business‑critical SWIFT platform, ensuring stability, resilience and availability.
  • Investigating and resolving production issues relating to message flow, connectivity, and platform performance.
  • Performing patching, upgrades and configuration changes across SWIFT applications and underlying operating systems.
  • Supporting core SWIFT infrastructure components (e.g. SAA, SAG, SNL) and associated services where applicable.
  • Assisting with user and access management within SWIFT environments, including virtual users and certificate-based access.
  • Working with network connectivity and routing concepts, including VPN connectivity and external network providers.
  • Assisting with platform changes across the full lifecycle, including build, testing, deployment and post‑change validation.
  • Supporting both planned change and production incidents, contributing to investigation, resolution and clear stakeholder communication.
  • Contributing to SWIFT-related projects and initiatives, including standards upgrades and security requirements (e.g. CSP, ISO20022).
  • Working with on‑premises and hosted infrastructure, gaining hands‑on exposure over time.
  • Developing an understanding of SWIFT messaging flows (MT/MX / ISO20022) and the wider payments ecosystem.
  • Supporting and maintaining platform documentation, testing practices and continuous improvement activities.

What we are looking for:

  • Good technical background with experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, or systems support.
  • Solid understanding of Windows Server OR Linux (preferably RHEL).
  • Experience working in production environments, including incident investigation and resolution.
  • Exposure to patching, upgrades or configuration of critical systems.
  • Foundational understanding of networking concepts (e.g. connectivity, routing, VPNs).
  • Some exposure to SWIFT, financial messaging, or similar enterprise messaging platforms.
  • Understanding (or awareness) of structured messaging or data flows (e.g. ISO20022, MT/MX concepts).
  • Experience or exposure to working within regulated or business-critical environments, including change control practices.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Awareness of testing and regression testing, and why organisations validate changes before release.

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Hands‑on experience with SWIFT Alliance products (SAA, SAG, SNL) or similar platforms.
  • SWIFT connectivity, VPNs, or network provider integrations.
  • Exposure to SWIFT CSP or security-related initiatives.
  • Certificate management / HSM concepts.
  • Experience with automation or scripting (any language).
  • SWIFT APIs or integration tooling.
  • Knowledge of U2A configuration for EU flows.
  • SWIFTNet Instant / AGI Knowledge.
  • Awareness of platform costs, licensing or usage considerations (e.g. SWIFT messaging volumes).
