As Security Engineering Manager you will lead a team of security engineers, responsible for recruitment, retention and personal development, and drive the adoption of security best practices across ClearBank’s technology organisation.

Your Role Includes:

  • Leading a security engineering team responsible for associated services.
  • Driving team ownership and process delivery.
  • Ensuring team success through hiring and coaching.
  • Collaborating with partners in IT, Product, Risk, Operations and other security teams to plan road-maps, prepare initiatives and execute effectively.
  • Supporting efficient prioritisation and decision-making within the team.
  • Improving ClearBank’s security posture and quality practices to maintain reliable and secure services.
  • Coordinating rapid response to significant external threats to application security.
  • Facilitating security conversations, drawing out requirements, creating threat models and providing recommendations.
  • Building business cases for tooling investment, running lightweight trials to assess products and managing security 3rd-party suppliers.
  • Managing the Security Champions and developer security awareness programmes.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Experience successfully leading technical teams and knowledge of effective team models.
  • Strong communication skills, able to influence IT teams, partners and stakeholders.
  • Solid technical skills, including security knowledge of Azure (or similar cloud platform) and deep software development expertise.
  • People-focused, skilled in coaching to achieve high performance and career progress.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, identifying opportunities and developing strategies to improve team, processes and technical capabilities.
  • A strong drive to improve the security of the organisation.
  • An outward-looking, collaborative approach to security.
