Trust unlocks our greatest potential. For decades, the clearing of payments remained unchanged and unchallenged. We asked, what if there was a better way? What if we could make banking infrastructure faster, safer, more reliable, and easier to access for all? Here is where you can think radically and responsibly to find the best solution. What happens when you know you’re inherently trusted? Trust creates safety. Safety encourages you to be brave, to challenge, to fail, to try new things and to execute. At ClearBank everything revolves around trust. We’re not expected to earn it, but we are expected not to break it. We’re trusted to own it. To solve issues in the moment. To know a good risk when we see one, and the judgement to know that ‘can’ doesn’t always mean you ‘should’.
What you can expect: ClearBank is a place where you can do things differently and challenge the status quo. We will give you a high level of autonomy and transparency, and we trust you to make the right decisions for the bank. How about joining our Client Services team as a Technical Author? Reporting to the Client Complaint Manager, you will be creating clear, accurate and user‑friendly documentation to enable our clients to integrate with our products across different platforms in a self‑service manner. You will work closely with Product and Engineering teams to translate complex technical requirements into accessible content such as API documentation, customer emails, and procedure guides, ensuring documentation is complete, up to date, and aligned with product delivery and lifecycle processes.
Your role includes:
- Creating and maintaining clear, accurate, and consistent technical documentation on the ClearBank Developer Portal to support client integration with ClearBank APIs
- Creating and maintaining step‑by‑step procedure guides to assist clients with using the ClearBank Portal
- Writing clear and accessible customer emails for product updates
- Translating complex technical requirements (e.g. APIs, payloads, parameters) into user‑friendly accessible guidance
- Collaborating with Product, Engineering, Client Services, and API teams to gather inputs and ensure documentation reflects the latest functionality and changes
- Managing documentation updates through defined workflows (e.g. DevOps tickets, versioning, lifecycle updates) to maintain accuracy and audit capability
- Continuously improving documentation standards to reduce back‑and‑forth queries and accelerate client onboarding and integration
What you’ll bring: To excel in this role, you’ll also need:
- Experience of working with API schemas, e.g OpenAPI and json schemas
- Experience writing with clarity, readability, and precision in mind, particularly for a developer audience
- The ability to be an active, engaged collaborator that seeks continual improvement
- Confidence working with development environments and contexts, for example: VSCode or equivalent IDE, git version control, Azure DevOps or equivalent, writing in Markdown or equivalent plaintext formats
- Experience programming, especially in C#, is an advantage, but not essential
- The ability to distil abstract models into understandable visual diagrams using diagramming software
- Experience in using a range of software, including but not limited to, Git, GitHub, MadCap Flare, VS Code, Azure DevOps, Draw.io, SnagIt, and Camtasia
What makes a great ClearBank team member? Does this sound like you?
- You focus on solutions and positive outcomes, thinking radically and responsibly to find the best result for our customers, your colleagues and the bank;
- You actively seek feedback from others to drive your growth and development, always assuming positive intent from others and develop strong, trusting relationships with your colleagues and customers: you really, genuinely care;
- You always strive for the highest quality, but you know that done is better than perfect; you welcome a challenge knowing that they learn as you go and iterate;
- ‘I’ before ’we’, isn’t in your vocabulary
If this sounds like you then we encourage you to dust off that CV and apply!
