You will play a key role in delivering ClearBank's external communications activity across the UK and Europe, working closely with the Head of External Communications to drive the PR programme, manage agency relationships, coordinate media activity, and ensure communications projects move forward smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of ClearBank's communications and PR programme across the UK and Europe.
- Act as a day‑to‑day lead across communications activity, ensuring projects, approvals and deadlines remain on track.
- Work closely with external PR agencies, brief activity, coordinate outputs and ensure work aligns to business priorities.
- Draft and deliver a range of communications materials including press releases, media comments, briefing notes, Q&A, talking points and campaign content.
- Coordinate spokesperson opportunities, including arranging interviews, preparing executive briefing materials and supporting media engagement.
- Proactively identify opportunities to amplify ClearBank's profile through media coverage, thought leadership and industry activity.
- Monitor media activity and coverage, keeping a close eye on industry developments, competitor activity and emerging opportunities.
- Manage communications trackers and reporting, ensuring visibility of ongoing activity and results.
- Support social media content creation where it relates to PR and external communications activity.
- Work with senior stakeholders across the business, including members of the Executive Team and C‑suite, supporting executive visibility across media opportunities, industry events, conferences and LinkedIn activity.
- Attend industry events and support spokespersons before, during and after engagements.
- Build strong relationships across Marketing, Revenue, Product and Leadership teams to ensure consistent and aligned messaging.
- Support internal communications initiatives in partnership with the Internal Communications team, helping maintain key communication channels including the intranet and Viva Engage.
- Support company‑wide communications including town halls, business updates, product launches and strategic announcements, ensuring consistency between internal and external messaging.
- Coordinate awards submissions, speaker opportunities and industry surveys.
- Support communications activity across existing and future international markets, particularly Europe.
- Track media coverage and communications performance, reporting against agreed KPIs.
- Ensure external communications opportunities are shared across the wider marketing function for amplification and reuse.
Qualifications
- 3‑5 years' experience in PR, communications or external affairs, either agency‑side or in‑house.
- Experience managing multiple communications workstreams in a fast‑paced environment.
- Understanding of fintech, technology, financial services or adjacent sectors.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce high‑quality content across a variety of formats.
- Experience working with PR agencies and managing relationships effectively.
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders and supporting executive communications activity.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and keep projects moving forward.
- Experience monitoring and reporting on media coverage using tools such as Onclusive, Signal AI or similar platforms is desirable.
- Experience supporting both external and internal communications activity would be advantageous.
- International communications experience, particularly across European markets, would be beneficial.
- A proactive, self‑starting approach with the confidence to operate independently and bring ideas forward.
